Nicole has received numerous awards throughout her undergraduate education for her dedication, achievements, leadership, collaboration, and research contributions. These prestigious accolades include Fulbright Finalist, UMBC President’s List, JHU Vivian Thomas Scholars Initiative Recipient, and ABCRMS Oral Presenter. Nicole's exceptional commitment to excellence has earned her admiration from professors and fellow students alike, making her a standout in her academic journey. Honors & Awards:

  • Meyerhoff Scholars Program

    Nicole was awarded as a Top Scholar in the Meyerhoff Scholars program, a fellowship dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in STEM and enabling said students to earn terminal degrees.

  • UMBC Academic Accolades

    Nicole has received a UMBC academic award almost every semester during her undergraduate career. Academic Honors denotes a semester GPA of 3.5-3.74, the Dean’s List denotes a semester GPA of 3.75-3.99, and the President’s List denotes a GPA of 4.0. Nicole graduated Cume Laude with a 3.72 GPA.

  • ABRCMS Awards

    Nicole was designated as a Travel Awardee and Oral presenter for the 2022 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Scientists (ABRCMS). She presenter her research in a conference room before three judges with approximately 5 other presenters.

  • JHU VTSI Recipient

    In Fall 2022 and Fall 2021, Nicole was a Johns Hopkins Vivian Thomas Scholars Initiative Recipient, a fellowship opportunity for MSI students to fund their research.

  • Neilom Scholarship

    While Nicole conducted research at Johns Hopkins University in the IMERSE and HAMR Labs, she was awarded the Neilom Fellowship to fund her research. The program aims to support young researchers who aim to create a positive impact on the world.

  • Purdue Pathways Scholars

    In the Summer of 2020, Nicole was named a Purdue Pathways Scholar. Members of this program received mentoring and engaged in webnairs, and other enrichment achieves to support students interested in graduate education.

  • Fulbright Finalist

    Nicole was selected as a Fulbright Finalists for Italy where she will study in SDA Bocconi’s Master of Internatinal Healthcare Management, Economics, and Policy program. As a Fulbright Scholar she will gain global perspective on healthcare issues in the medical technology sphere with the aim to bring a interdisciplinary and wholistic perspective to rehabilitation research and engineering innovation.
